Tilton House of Pizza

Located at 289 Main Street beside the Winnipesaukee River,  Tilton House of Pizza is known throughout the state
for its pizza, calzones, grinders, wraps, fries, wings, and great dinners. THOP has been named the Viewer's Choice
Best Pizza in NH winner for both  2014 and 2015 on WMUR -TV and their Facebook site is filled with accolades.

THOP is also widely recognized as being one of the friendliest restaurants in the state. They  make you feel
welcome and treat you as if you are part of the family.  Be sure to stop by some winter day to have a pizza or
try one of the many delicious items on the menu. Then come back again to try some of their calzones.

Driving in Winter Weather

1. Drive cautiously and maintain safe speeds and distances from other vehicles

2. Keep a safe distance from emergency vehicles and snow plows.

3. Keep your gas tank full and maintain your windshield washer.

4. Clear all snow and ice from the hood, roof, windows, and lights before you start driving.

5. Have an emergency kit in your vehicle as well as your cell phone.

6. Drive carefully on bridges and ramps which can freeze before roadways.

7. Don't use cruise control when driving in slippery conditions.

8. Drive slowly. Turning and stopping will take longer in snowy conditions.

9. Know your brakes and apply firm, steady pressure.

10. Always wear your seat belt.

Things to have on hand to eat: bottled water, crackers, cereal, peanut butter, canned soups, dried fruit

Things to have for comfort: flashlights and batteries, LED lights, manual can opener, quilts or blankets, games

Things to do before the storm: have shovelsfill bathtub with water, charge cell phone, check medicines needed

winter weather advisory - snow, freezing rain, sleet are expected

winter storm watch - storm is possible in your area in the next 12-36 hours

winter storm warning - storm is happening, or will be shortly

blizzard warning - expect winds or gusts 35 mph or more and considerable amounts
 of falling and blowing snow for 3 hours or longer

2. Go ice skating at the rink set up by the Parks Commission behind Tanger Outlet Mall

3. Take your dog for a walk

4. Go cross-country skiing in Buffalo Park or at Gunstock

5. Attend a sled dog race in Laconia Feb. 12-14, 2016

6. Feed the birds or go birdwatching

7. Go ice fishing once the lakes are TOTALLY frozen

8. Go outside with a camera (or your cell phone) and take pictures of winter sights

9. Watch the New England Pond Hockey Classic in Meredith on February 5-7, 2016

10. Learn about curling at the Lakes Region Curling Association
